Five days of girls basketball camps at Lyon College got off to a strong start as 11 young ladies between grades 4th through 12th attended the Lyon Girls Shooting Camp at Becknell Gymnasium on Saturday.
The four-hour camp consisted of a wide range of basketball skill-building drills from dribbling, to shooting, to blocking out, setting screens and defense, among others, as campers received one-on-one instruction from Lyon head women's coach Tracy Stewart-Lange, assistant coach Julie Church and Scot junior Alex Davidson, (pictured at left) a former graduate of Batesville High School who plays on the collegiate squad.
Camps will continue on Sunday night, with a Junior and Senior Girls Individual Camp, which runs through Wednesday. This camp will include girls in 7th through 12th grades.
There will also be a Girls Elementary Day Camp beginning Monday and extending through Thursday at Becknell Gymnasium. This camp will include athletes in grades 3-6.
For more information on attending the camps, contact Stewart-Lange at (870) 307-7248.
