
BATESVILLE, Ark. - Lyon College junior Aaron Farris (Mountain View HS, Mountain View, Ark.) was one of 423 collegiate men basketball players in all divisions throughout the country to be named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2011-12 Honors Court.
Farris, a 6-4, 225-lb. junior, who was named Lyon's freshman of the year after the team's 2010-11 season, was named to the nation's academically elite squad by qualifying with the minimum of the following credentials: Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year; matriculated at least one year at his current institution; member of NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA institution; and academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
Farris, who is a music major, averaged 4.4 points per game in the 2011-12 season, hitting 52.6% (40-of-76) of his field goals, 69.1% (38-of-55) of his free throws, while averaging 2.3 rebounds and 0.3 steals per game for the Scots.
The NABC recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics off the court each year in being named to the Honors Court.
