Sharp was also awarded All-Conference and All-State in basketball as well as KURM Dream Team. Sharp's sophomore year her team was 5A State Champions. Her junior year they made State Runner Ups and her senior year went to the 2nd round at State.

Head Coach Ray Green stated, "I have been after Makenzie since last summer when I had the opportunity to work with her high school team at camp. She fit in perfectly with our squad on her visit so I think the transition from high school to college volleyball will go smoothly. She is another great addition to our incoming class of versatile attackers who will compete for time on the court. Having won a state championship, she brings the understanding of what it takes to compete successfully at a high level. Our freshman class will be exciting to coach!"
