Men's basketball adds Marcus Humose to the 2012 season. Humose is a native of Cottondale, Florida. The sharp shooting, 6 ft. guard averaged 22 points a game at Cottondale High School. Humose played 2 years in the Panhandle conference, one of the toughest JUCO conferences in the nation. Humose averaged 6 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 rebounds per game for Gulf Coast State College.

In 2010 Humose received Jackson County Player of the Year, was on the Freedom Classic All-Star Team, Florida Panhandle All-Star Game, and was the 19th ranked shooting guard in the state of Florida by Orlando- Battle of the Rankings Camp 2010. Humose played AAU for the Hamboree Dragons.

Head coach Kevin Jenkins stated "We are excited that Marcus chose Lyon to continue his basketball and education. He is a great fit for us both on the floor and in the classroom. It is great to get a player from the PanhandleConference one of the toughest conferences in Junior College. His ability to shoot the ball along with his two years of experience makes us very strong at the guard positions for next year.

Assistant coach Matt Creamer stated "I knew Marcus growing up. He is exactly what we need to continue to put our program in the right direction. Marcus is a winner. I'm looking forward to coaching him next year."
