Lyon's Long, Trevecca's Bradley, Lyon's Cooper Named TranSouth Golfer's of the Week

Cooper and Bradley Honored Again, Long Gets First

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The TranSouth Athletic Conference's weekly Golfer of the Week awards have been released for the week ending April 22, 2012.

The conference recognizes athletes from each of its sports on a weekly basis for excelling in their respective arenas of competition.

MEN'S GOLF: Trevecca's Bradley, Lyon's Long Share Golfer of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca's Joey Bradley and Lyon's Justin Long have been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Co-Men's Golfer of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 22, 2012. This is the second time this season that Bradley has earned the weekly award.

Bradley, a senior from Dickson, Tenn., finished seventh at the NCAA Division l Tennessee State University Big Blue Classic. Bradley carded a 70-75-68=213 to finish in the top 10 of the 62 member field. There were 10 teams completing and all but Trevecca were NCAA Division l teams. The event was played at the par-72 6822 yard Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tenn.

Long, a sophomore from Allen, Texas, was fifth at the Hannibal LaGrange Spring Invitational with a 78-77=155. There were 36 golfers and six teams competing. The tournament was played at the par-72 6629 yard Norwoods Golf Course.

WOMEN'S GOLF: Lyon's Cooper Named Golfer of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Bobie Jo Cooper has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 22, 2012. This is the third time this season that Cooper has earned the weekly award.

Cooper, a freshman from Highland, Ark., was ninth at the Hannibal LaGrange Spring Invitational with a 96-84=180. There were 21 golfers and six teams competing. The tournament was played at the par-72 5829 yard Norwoods Golf Course.

The TranSouth Athletic Conference (TSAC) is an NAIA conference of nine colleges and universities throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Since 1996, the mission of the TSAC is to promote the education and development of well-rounded students and productive citizens through intercollegiate athletics. The conference offers equitable access and opportunities for participation in its 13 championships held annually.
