
Lebanon, TN. - 2/2/2012- The Lyon College Men's Basketball team faced Cumberland University his evening and were defeated by the Bulldogs 73-58. The Scots were only down by two points going into halftime 27-29 but they could not outlast the Bulldogs in the end.
The Scots were led in scoring this evening once again by Sophomore CJ Blount earning his sixth double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Sophomore Daniel Ritchie adding 14 points to the mix while going 4-6 from the field.
The Scots finished the game with 38 % from the field and 60 % from the free throw line. While the Bulldogs went 41% from the field and 78% from the free throw line. Cumberland was led this evening by Daniel McFadden coming off the bench with 14 points and 4 rebounds.
Head Coach Kevin Jenkins stated after the loss "CJ had another good game. We had great effort on the offensive boards. Daniel Ritchie played very well and we just didn't get consistent play from enough guys for 40 minutes".
The Scots are now 7-14 overall and 1-8 in Conference.
The Scots are back in TranSouth Conference action this Saturday February 4th at home to take on the Cougars of Mid-Continent. Tip-off is scheduled for 4pm. Go Scots!
