Batesville,AR. - 1/19/2012- Lyon College Men's Basketball took on Trevecca Nazarene University tonight in Becknell Gymnasium falling to the Trojans 68-70. In the first half the Scots struggled trailing by 13 points, 12-25 with 8:24 left. Before going into halftime the Scots narrowed the margin only going into the locker room down 29-35. The Scots turned the game around with CJ Blount knocking down a 2point shot with 4:39 to go in the game taking the lead for the first time in the second half 62-61. The Scots battled back in forth for the remainder of the exciting game in front of a roaring crowd but failed to conquer and fell to the Trojans by two points.

The Scots were led again in scoring tonight by Freshman guard Devonte Young putting 13 points on the board. While teammates Brandon Cowart shot 5-7 from the field adding 11 points and Slater Belew coming off the bench making an impact with 10 points and 5 boards.

The Scots finished the game with 49% from the field and 53% from the free throw line. While the Trojans went 56% from the field and 73% from the free throw line. The Scots are now 6-11 overall and 0-5 in Conference.

Head Coach Kevin Jenkins stated after the tough loss "I thought we gave great effort for the full 40 minutes. It was nice to have everyone back and playing hard together. Tonight was a tough loss when the game comes down to the wire like that".

The Scots continue TranSouth Conference play this Saturday January 21st in McKenzie, Tennessee. Tip-off is scheduled for 4pm against the Bethel Wild Cats.
