Batesville, Ark. - 11/5/2011 - The Lyon College men's soccer team was defeated Mid-Continent University 0-1 on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the TranSouth Conference Tournament ending the Scots season. Lyon ended the 2011-12 season with a 9-8-2 record. This places Mid-Continent at 8-8-1 and moves them on the round two of the tournament.
After the first period of play the score remained 0-0. In the 65th minute of play Mid-Continent's Marco Galvan scored. Lyon was unable to answer and time expired with a final score of 1-0 in Mid-Continents favor.
Mid-Continent outshot Lyon 16-15 in the match, including 7-5 on goal. Lyon's Tomas Guarino recorded 6 saves in the effort. Mid-Continent's Adam Lewis posted 5 saves in the win.
This loss to Mid-Continent ends the 2011-12 season for the Scots.
