LOOKOUT POINT,
Mo.-9/2/2011- The Lyon College volleyball team lost 2 matches today at the
College of the Ozarks', Mazzio's Tournament. The Scots played College of the Ozarks in their first game
of the day and were defeated 16-25, 21-25, and 14-25. Senior, Danielle Reed led the offense with 9
kills followed by Susanne Fincham with 8 kills, and Chelsea Hinton with 7
kills. Hinton also posted 13 digs
leading the defense. Other contributors
to the defense were Bre Wright with 12 digs and Ariel Smith with 10 digs. Wright also posted an impressive 26 assists
in a 2-setter offensive system. In game 2 versus Southern Nazarene the Scots fell 12-25,
17-25, and 11-25. Samantha Comet, a
sophomore, led the team with 8 kills, 9 digs, and 2 aces. Other contributors to the offense were Chelsea
Hinton with 6 kills, Danielle Reed with 5 kills, and Emily Sprick with 13
assists. Suzanne Fincham led the defense
with a season high with 3 blocks and Ariel Smith contributed 10 digs. The Scots will be back on the court bright and early
Saturday, September 3rd at 9:00am and 11:00am as they take on
Central Methodist University and William Penn University. #SCOTS#
