FULTON, Mo. – With inclement weather predicted in the forecast, the William Woods Fall Invitational was changed into a one-day 36-hole event. The change in schedule did not faze the Scots as Joshua Lunceford (SR/Mountain Home, Ark.) and Royce LoBianco (JR/Maumelle, Ark.) led the team to a seventh-place finish on Monday.
Lunceford and LoBianco tied for 11th place at the William Woods Fall Invitational after shooting a two-over, 146, following their respective rounds. Lunceford shot a pair of identical 73 rounds on the day, while LoBianco finished the first round of 18 holes at a 71 and shot a 75 during the second round on the par-72 Tanglewood Golf Course.
August Reynolds (SO/Harrison, Ark.) tied for 30th in the event after shooting a 77 and a 76 during his two rounds, respectively.
Other members on the course for the Scots during the William Woods Fall Invitational included Tomas Mariscotti (JR/Rogers, Ark.) and Mitchell Cannon (JR/San Marcos, Calif.) who tied for 36th after both golfers shot an identical score of 158 following 36 holes. Bryce Carter (SO/Enola, Ark.) placed 48th in the event after shooting a combined score of 171 on the day.
As a team, the Scots shot the seventh-best score at 598. William Woods won the invitational after posting a score of 567. Columbia College finished in second at 568, while the second unit for William Woods came in third at 588. William Penn University (590), Park University (592) and Evangel University (595) rounded out the top six in the event.
Hailey Elmore (SO/Jacksonville, Ark.) finished in a tie for 17th for the Lyon College women after shooting an 88 and an 87, respectively.
The Scots travel to their final event of the 2017-18 fall season on Oct. 23-24 at the Redhawks Fall Classic. The Redhawks Fall Classic will be hosted at the Canebrake Golf Course in Athens, Ala.
