BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team (12-10, 3-3 AMC) travels to Russellville, Ark. Tuesday to take on Central Baptist and Arkansas Tech in a Tri-Match. The Scots will play the Mustangs at 4 p.m., followed by the Golden Suns at 6 p.m.
Lyon is coming off a 3-1 win over Central Baptist on Saturday at Becknell Gymnasium.
Central Baptist: The Mustangs enter Tuesday with an 8-9 overall record and 1-5 mark in the AMC. CBC is coming off a four set loss to Lyon, 3-1 on Oct. 7. Emily Harp has a team high 149 kills and Kelsy Knox is second with 134. Sarah Clemmons has a team high 35 total blocks. Hope Johnson leads the Mustangs 255 assists and Madelyn Black has 142, while Lenee Gibson leads the Mustangs with 222 digs. Kobie Hartman leads CBC with 25 service aces.
Arkansas Tech: The Golden Suns are an undefeated 20-0 on the season, and will play the Mustangs before taking on the Scots. Arkansas Tech is an NCAA Division II team and is coming off a 3-1 win over Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday. Hunter Eshnaur has a team high 186 kills and Tabitha Spray is second with 182. Amanda Milnick leads ATU with 667 assists and Madison Nagel leads the team with 303 digs. Greer Rogers leads the Golden Suns with 74 total blocks, while Spray and Eshnaur have a team leading 24 service aces.
Lyon: The Scots are led by Chelzie Ulu (SR/Hilo, Hawaii)'s 198 kills, while Iva Popovic (JR/Novi Sad, Serbia) has 156. Jordan Dabdub (SO/Fort Smith, Ark.) leads the Scots with 405 assists and Ellie Embry (SO/Huntsville, Ark.) is next with 253. Madisson Williams (JR/Hot Springs, Ark.) has a team high 403 digs on the season and is 200 away from 1,500 for her career. Michayla Shanks (SO/Republic, Mo.), Dabdub and Leilani Ocasio (SR/Fort Smith, Ark.) also have at least 100 digs on the season. Popovic and Ulu are the top blockers for Lyon as Popovic has 56 total blocks and Ulu has 51. Williams leads the team with 36 service aces and Dabdub is second with 31.
Central Baptist: The Scots are 13-2 all-time against the Mustangs and have won 11 straight in the all-time series. The two teams last met on Saturday where Lyon defeated CBC 3-1.
Arkansas Tech: Lyon is 0-12 all-time against Arkansas Tech and last played them on Oct. 25, 2016 where the Golden Suns won in three straight sets.
Lyon will travel to Tougaloo, Miss. to face Tougaloo College on Friday at 6 p.m.
