ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference softball All-Conference awards were released on Thursday, and three Lyon College softball players were recognized for their efforts on the field. Nicole Sanders (JR/Pineville, La.) was named to the All-AMC First Team, while Rachel Norman (JR/Livermore, Calif.) and Allie Lewis (JR/Bettendorf, Iowa) garnered second team honors. Sanders was also chosen as the team's conference champions of character representative.
Sanders finished the season with a 12-14 record and team low 3.19 earned run average. She also set a career high in strikeouts and innings pitched with 139 fanned batters and 160.0 innings. Sanders also posted 22 complete games and four shutouts.
Norman appeared in all 48 of the team's games on the year and had a .309 batting average. She also scored 35 runs and had six doubles along with three triples, while knocking in 14 runs on the year. In the field, Norman recorded 81 putouts, 77 assists and had a fielding percentage of 0.963.
Lewis appeared in 46 games on the season, while starting a total of 37. She also had a .309 batting average, while totaling 16 runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and 21 RBI. Lewis also had an on base percentage of 0.443 on the year.
