BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball team (19-9) returns to Scots Field Tuesday when they host NCAA Division II Ouachita Baptist University (Ark.). The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., as the Scots look to continue their winning streak, winning the last three contests on their schedule.
Kyle West (SO/Lewisville, Texas) leads Lyon with a .342 batting average and eight doubles on the season. Easton Moore (JR/Fort Worth, Texas) and Will Lindsey (SR/Batesville, Ark.) follow, as Moore is batting .320 and Lindsey is posting a .315 batting average. Jordan Braswell (JR/Kennedale, Texas) has hit a team high four home runs, while Lindsey has a team leading 21 RBI's. Tyler Tognarine (JR/Cape Coral, Fla.) has the best record on the mound for the Scots as he is boasting a 7-1 mark and team low 1.76 earned run average over 51.0 innings pitched. He also has six complete games, one shutout and team high 46 strikeouts. Cole Jenkins (FR/Little Rock, Ark.) is second on the squad with 36 fanned batters. Jacob Huffman (SR/Denton, Texas) is also boasting a 1.69 ERA out of the bullpen.
Scouting Ouachita Baptist University
The Tigers are 7-19 overall and are led by four players batting at least .300 on the team. Kyle Alexander leads the group with a .375 average, while Jackson Noakes is hitting .359 on the season. Ryan Hammer and Preston Speers are batting .345 and .315, respectively. Justin Weigle leads OBU with four home runs, while Speers, Ty Owens and Aaron Studdard have three apiece. Speers is leading the Tigers with 18 RBI's, while Weigle has 14.
OBU has struggled on the mound as they are posting a team ERA of 6.43. Adam Bahloul leads Ouachita Baptist with a 3-3 record and 4.40 earned run average. He also has a team high 31 strikeouts, while John Franklin Matros and Abe Young are tied with 23 strikeouts.
Last Time Out
Lyon swept a three-game series on the road against Hannibal-LaGrange this past weekend. The Scots outscored the Trojans 35-15 in the series, winning 15-5, 5-4 and 15-6. Braswell and Keegan Floyd (SR/Bartlett, Tenn.) played a big part in two of the team's wins, posting four RBI's apiece. Tognarine, Ryan Lewis (SO/Bulverde, Texas) and Reese Chovanec (FR/Magnolia, Texas) picked up wins in the series.

Lyon returns to conference play this weekend, as they face a tough test in No. 23 Freed-Hardeman at Scots Field. Both teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at 12 p.m., before closing out the series Saturday with one game at 1 p.m.
